Engine Oil: The Life Blood of your Engine.

In recent years manufacturers have changed oil  service intervals from the traditional 3 month or 3000 mile standard.

We have seen many vehicles with as much as 8,000 miles on engine oil. Oil protects the moving parts of the engine by forming a thin film just a few mills thick. Contaminated or old engine oil allows the moving parts to actually touch creating heat from friction and excessive wear. We recommend oil changes at least three times a year and of course to follow the manufacturers suggested intervals as per the service schedule.

Transmission Fluid Exchange Service

Most folks forget all about their transmission fluid until it is too late. Like replacing engine oil, service to the transmission fluid is equally important. Usualy set at the 30,000 miles interval (which is why most poeple forget about it) transmission fluid is paramount to long transmission life and good service.

Unlike engine oil which is designed to keep moving parts apart transmission fluid is designed to allow the friction clutches in the transmission to be lubricated while they grab on to each other providing a friction drive. Tremendous heat is created during this process and the older the fluid the more likely it will turn brown from this heat and fail to properly lubricate the friction components.

Todays Transmissions carry a hefty price to replace. Fluid service can considerably extend the serviceable life of your transmission.

The single most important safety system on your car.

Most of todays cars are 4 wheel disc or disc drum combination. In most cases the driver feels little or no evidence that the brakes are severly worn or even worn at all. Brake systems are designed to change all of the kinetic energy of the vehicle into heat at the pad and rotor contact point. Worn brake pads and thin brake rotors can not allow for this heat to be dissapated and the vehicles stopping distance and be lengthened 20 to as much as 40%. That could be the difference between a safe stop or a tragedy.
